本标准适用于金属艾氏冲击试验，艾氏冲击试验是在室温下（10～35℃），以悬臂梁式冲击，测定试样缺口处折断时所吸收的能量。试样的折断是由摆锤一次性冲击完成的。冲击时，试样垂直夹紧，缺口底部和定位块顶面处于同一平面内，摆锤在缺口上方一定高度上，冲击缺口正面，然后测得试样的冲击吸收功。

       建议使用万测的PIT系列G型摆锤冲击试验机150J或300J机型完成此悬臂梁冲击试验（艾氏冲击试验），该机配有U型摆，而且该机还可以完成简支梁冲击试验（夏比冲击试验）Brugger冲击试验和wedge冲击试验。
